A bit different than typical articles, the following is a collection of topical replies, useful for refuting common arguments for abortion. Providing brief yet impactful responses (for when a more lengthy conversation may not be feasible, such as on social media), while also establishing shared concerns and how pro-life policies provide better solutions, including for human rights and women’s health & safety. Additionally, plentiful resources are included below to support the numerous points, offer informative material, and provide resources for women and families in need.

Why Not Abortion…

  • Abortion is Misogyny
    • Abortion exploits women for profit.
      • Abortion devalues women, using women for sex, abandoning mothers, and enabling violence against women, including rape, trafficking, & homicide— the leading cause of death of pregnant women.
      • Discriminatory abortions disproportionately target and kill females; abortion is the highest killer of females.
      • Planned Parenthood kills approximately 150,000 females annually, and covers up injuries and deaths of women and rape and trafficking.
      • Abortion ignores harm caused to women’s physical & mental health.
        • Abortion propaganda misinforms women and deceptively conflates women’s health issues to exploit fear and push abortion agenda.
      • Abortion asserts that women’s ability to succeed is hindered unless they kill their children, redirecting oppression, misattributing promiscuity as liberation, and dismissing women who are empowered by being mothers.
        • The Sexual Revolution infiltrated the Women’s Movement with an abortion agenda for profit; men led the push for abortion and still fund it today.

Pro-Life has always been led by women and supports all aspects of women’s well-being and needs, including their motherhood, health and safety, relationships and families, education and vocation.

Pro-Life organizations provide women with safe healthcare and supportive assistance, including financial & material aid.

  • Abortion is ANTI-choice
    • 84% of women are not properly informed at abortion clinics.
      • Planned Parenthood lies to women, fails to disclose health risks and truth about fetal development, violating informed consent. 
      • Planned Parenthood abortionists even testified they illegally alter abortion procedures, endangering women to harvest live babies for profit. 
    • Approximately 70% of women report feeling pressured and do not receive counseling about alternatives.
      • Over half of abortions are unwanted and involve coercion.
      • Over 50% of women feel rushed or uncertain.
      • 80% choose life if just given an ultrasound.

Pro-Life clinics vastly outnumber Planned Parenthood, and fully inform women, provide more options, safe healthcare services and resources, including free sonograms, prenatal care, supplies, and safe abortion pill reversal.

  • Abortion harms and kills women
    • Abortion laws lack adequate data reporting and tracking of adverse effects.
      • Up to 30% of women have reported suffering complications from abortions, including approximately 10% considered serious or even life-threatening. 
      • Harm caused by abortions (such as cervical damage) can cause subsequent fertility problems, miscarriages & premature births. 
    • 65% experience trauma or PTSD.
      • Abortion also correlates with increased rates of depression, anxiety, substance abuse, suicide; abortion harms men’s mental health too.
      • Abortion lacks follow-up care for physical and mental health which can be immediate, lasting, or even present years later. 
    • Rampant health and safety violations exist at abortion clinics, including malpractice, improper medical records, unsanitary conditions, and enabling sex abuse.
      • There is a general lack of clinic inspections, transparency of investigations or 911 call records, or accountability for botched abortions.

Pro-Life laws increase health and safety, such as physician credential standards and hospital transfers for emergency care; also increase tax benefits, prenatal child support, child care, and foster/adoption and family programs.

Pro-Life groups provide more safe healthcare services, including post-abortive healing therapies.

  • Abortion is never medically necessary
    • OB/GYNs confirm it is never necessary to intentionally kill a baby to save a woman’s life.
    • Ectopic emergency care or treatment for miscarriages are not abortions; the baby has already died or is not viable to survive, and the procedure is to save the mother’s life, while the tragic loss of the baby is unintentional and unavoidable.
      • Abortion agenda exploits a small percentage of women with health concerns or women with tragic loss of their babies to push unlimited abortion for profit; only a few countries with human rights abuses have such extreme unrestricted abortion.

Pro-Life provides healthcare for both patients, mom and baby.

Early delivery or C-section is always safer than induced abortion. 

Even terminal babies can receive perinatal hospice healthcare, which is also better for parents’ mental health.

Fetal cells can even remain in the woman for years and aid in her healing.

Contrary to the abortion industry falsely exploiting fears, no pro-life law or State prevents women from receiving life-saving healthcare. 

Maternal deaths actually decrease with abortion restrictions, and States with pro-life laws have lower maternal mortality rates; while more women die after legalized (and dangerously unregulated) abortion. 

Bipartisan majorities support abortion limits and increased health & safety standards (and oppose taxpayer funding).

  • Abortion enables abuse
    • Abortion enables rape and trafficking, including minors.
      • Abortion adds even more trauma to survivors of sex assault, as additional violent acts against their bodies; in fact, many women report the abortions were even more traumatizing than the assault.
    • Abortion clinics cover up sex abuse and Planned Parenthood has failed to report trafficking, including minors.
      • Planned Parenthood curriculum in schools sexualizes young children, exposing them to graphic content; and Planned Parenthood advises minors to try dangerous sex acts, endangering children and making it harder for them to discern or credibly report abuse.

Pro-Life protects women and children, and provides compassionate, safe healthcare and support.

Over 70% of sex assault victims who conceive choose life; most women report the love of her baby is healing after trauma.

Moms deserve support, not more harm.

Justice is not killing innocent babies for others’ crimes.

Human rights aren’t determined by method of conception.

  • Abortion pills harm and kill women
    • Over half of abortions are now chemical abortions, especially as States increase abortion limits post-Roe.
      • The chemical abortion regimen administers the first pill, Mifepristone (or RU-486), which blocks progesterone, cutting off nutrition to starve the baby to death. The second pill, Misoprostol (or Cytotec), induces painful cramping, bleeding, and premature labor contractions to expel the dead baby.
    • Chemical abortions have even higher risks than surgical (Dilation & Evacuation, or dismemberment) abortions.
      • DIY abortion drugs hospitalize and kill women; cause hemorrhage, infection, life-threatening complications, and PTSD 
      • Women may expel their baby any time or place, and are often alone, to decide if they experience concerning complications requiring medical care; and they may see their tiny formed babies expelled, but abortion clinics tell women to “flush it.”
    • Lack of medical supervision or follow-up care to ensure complete evacuation to prevent infection, nor care for mental health effects; abortion clinics even encourage women to conceal complications.
    • Abortion pills are among dangerous drugs with serious safety concerns that require FDA’s Risk Evaluation and Mitigation Strategy (REMS) but violate such safety regulations
      • No Dr exam to confirm gestational age, ectopic risk, nor access to emergency care.
      • Initially only approved up to 7 weeks, then 10 weeks; but safety risks and failure rates increase with later gestational ages.
    • By-mail access of abortion drugs:
      • enables coercion and abusers drugging unsuspecting women, causing emergency health risks, and enabling rape and trafficking, including minors;
      • allows dangerous use of the drugs during later gestational ages beyond FDA approval, which can be life-threatening or fatal to women, with no accountability for abortionists;
      • Includes illegal sources with dangerously improper development, storage, or transport.
    • Abortion drugs contain endocrine disruptors that remain detectable in the public water supply, along with human remains disposed of, violating SCOTUS’ ruling requiring dignified burial or cremation, and adding additional environmental and health concerns.
    • Abortion clinics fail to inform women of risks or abortion pill reversal.
      • Over 50% of women report feeling rushed or uncertain. 

Pro-Life fully informs women and provides more options, including ultrasounds and safe abortion pill reversal if women change their minds after the first pill, which administers natural progesterone and provides a nearly 70% success rate.

  • Abortion is discrimination
    • Abortion is the world’s leading cause of death, killing over 70 million each year.
      • Historically, abortion began by eugenicists and still serves eugenic aims, globally pushed onto minority communities;
      • Disproportionately kills (and the highest killer of) females, minorities, and disabled;
      • Abortion is genocide of vulnerable groups. 
    • Anomalies can be misdiagnosed, receive corrective treatments (such as fetal surgery), or even self-correct in utero or post-birth.

Pro-Life protects equality and provides supportive resources for parents and families. Human rights are not diminished by level of development or distinguishable characteristics such as gender, race, or ability.

Related issues can present Constitutional right to life questions and ethical challenges involving societal and traditional family values:

  • Distinct life with its own DNA begins at conception
    • Preborn babies have remarkable development and abilities, even feeling pain, as early as the first trimester. 
    • Even SCOTUS’ Roe ruling admitted establishing personhood collapses the foundation for abortion.
  • Assisted suicide and fetal testing for anomalies can perpetuate discrimination, as in vitro fertilization (IVF) also can, by encouraging selection of preferable embryos.
  • Surrogacy can enable trafficking, traumatize babies who have bonded in utero, and lacks preventative safeguards for demographics with statistically higher incidents of abuse or mental health issues.
  • Pro-Life views often encompass supporting equal human rights “from womb to tomb.”
