In the chaos of the COVID-19 pandemic, it’s easy to overlook other laws not pertaining to the virus directly, such as laws that effect abortion. In this worldwide crisis, many government officials have taken advantage and used the opportunity to push a pro-choice agenda, including the World Health Organization (WHO).
Although many elective procedures have been halted during this national emergency, abortion clinics have been deemed “essential business” and allowed to continue operations.
The World Health Organization helped convince government officials to continue allowing abortion stating, “services related to reproductive health are considered to be part of essential services during the COVID-19 outbreak,” which includes “safe abortion to the full extent of the law.”
With many people becoming infected from the disease, it is a priority to use all medical supplies to treat the virus, not for other elective medical procedures such as abortion. However, WHO stood firm on its position regarding allowing abortions to continue, one which many medical experts called, “medically irresponsible.” Meanwhile, state governors have taken the issue into their own hands by deciding whether abortion facilities are considered “essential” in each state.
The United States has always relied heavily on the World Health Organization’s expertise when dealing with Coronavirus and other diseases.
The United Nations (U.N.) alliance, which includes the United States, recently approved a $2 billion dollar plan for the pandemic that includes funding for abortions. This is based off the World Health Organization’s position that elective abortions are “essential.” With the United States providing taxpayer money to the U.N. where it has invested into abortion advocacy organizations like WHO, it is enabling the killing of innocent babies.
Pro-life leader Lila Rose expressed her disgust towards WHO in the following tweet:https://platform.twitter.com/embed/Tweet.html?dnt=false&embedId=twitter-widget-0&features=eyJ0ZndfZXhwZXJpbWVudHNfY29va2llX2V4cGlyYXRpb24iOnsiYnVja2V0IjoxMjA5NjAwLCJ2ZXJzaW9uIjpudWxsfSwidGZ3X2hvcml6b25fdHdlZXRfZW1iZWRfOTU1NSI6eyJidWNrZXQiOiJodGUiLCJ2ZXJzaW9uIjpudWxsfSwidGZ3X3R3ZWV0X2VtYmVkX2NsaWNrYWJpbGl0eV8xMjEwMiI6eyJidWNrZXQiOiJjb250cm9sIiwidmVyc2lvbiI6bnVsbH19&frame=false&hideCard=false&hideThread=false&id=1246535630361780224&lang=en&origin=http%3A%2F%2Fhdi26.com%2Fthe-world-health-organization-supports-abortion-trump-halts-funding%2F&sessionId=d6c991954915085463e12a63af86292c3cfa62a6&siteScreenName=HumanDefenseINI&theme=light&widgetsVersion=82e1070%3A1619632193066&width=550px
This organization has exploited the world pandemic as a means to push their own agenda and claim more innocent lives.
With no near end in sight for the COVID-19 pandemic and more virus related deaths everyday, President Donald Trump announced Tuesday the United States will no longer be funding the World Health Organization. Though this decision was made based on WHO’s failed efforts to notify the U.N. about the virus in a timely manner, this is a massive win for the pro-life cause. Now the World Health Organization can no longer use U.S. money to push a pro-abortion agenda.
However, the World Health Organization is not the only abortion advocacy organization the United Nation funds and this is not the first time the Trump Administration has put its foot down when it comes to backing the U.N.’s abortion agenda.
In 2017, 2018, and 2019 President Trump ceased funds for the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) because that money was funding abortions around the world.
This administration has shown that the U.S. will not be bullied into using taxpayers’ money to support abortion. Any small victory for pro-life is a big victory on the path to abolishing abortion once and for all.
