Human Defense Initiative is excited to announce our latest fundraiser for an expecting mother in need!
Isis is an 18-year-old expecting mother and will soon be welcoming her first child, a baby girl. She is currently on bed-rest due to a high risk pregnancy and unable to work. Although she is not due until December, the baby may come much sooner than expected.
Upon finding out she was pregnant, Isis’ boyfriend found a new job, which unfortunately causes him to be away quite often. Although he is trying his best to contribute, they are still financially struggling and are also struggling to afford the rest of the items the baby needs. Neither Isis nor her boyfriend have much family support, and the majority of their families live out of state. While on bedrest, Isis has continued to search Facebook for free and secondhand items, but she also reached out to our crisis helpline for support!
Let’s help Isis with the remaining items she needs and is struggling to provide for her baby girl – a stroller, a carseat, cloth diapers, and other baby care items. Isis is most concerned about the stroller and car seat set as well as cloth diapers (and accessories such as prefolds, inserts and diaper sprayer) which she plans to use to save on the continuous expense of diapers.
Sometimes expecting mothers need a helping hand. Here at Human Defense Initiative, we want all mothers to feel confident that they have what they need to love and provide for their babies.
Let’s show Isis and her daughter some love and support during this next journey in their lives!
