HDI Launches Registry for Expecting Mom in Need, Due Soon

/ National

Human Defense Initiative is happy to announce we have officially launched our latest fundraiser for an expecting mom in need!

Grace is a mother to a little boy and expecting her first daughter. She’s a hard-working mom and always trying to do the best for her children. She’s never had parental support and put herself through college while working. However, due to financial struggles, she moved in with a relative to save on money. Rather than help her, they actually pocketed the extra money she paid (deposit, first and last month’s rent) and haven’t talked to her since. After, she moved in with a friend who ended up doing the same and stealing a great deal of money from her as well. She lost a significant amount of money due to both living arrangements and both individuals ignored her requests to pay back what they wrongfully stole.

She couldn’t believe people would do such a thing to a mother of a young child. She’s always helped other people and worked hard to make ends meet. However, she’s now facing a lack of support from her family and doesn’t have anyone to turn to for help.

Although Grace does have certain baby items, with her due date quickly approaching within the next week, she reached out to us to try to get help with the bigger ticket baby items –a bassinet, car seat, stroller and high chair.

Sometimes families need a helping hand and here at Human Defense Initiative, we want all mothers to feel confident that they have what they need to love and provide for their babies.

Let’s show Grace and her daughter that there are still good people in the world who want to love and support her through this tough time!

UPDATE: This registry is officially completed thanks to our wonderful donors! Please check our donation page HERE for future fundraisers! We want to say a huge thank you to everyone who has donated to or shared Grace's registry! She's so incredibly thankful for your support and love!
