Human Defense Initiative has recently been blessed with the opportunity to help an expecting mother who’s currently in foster care! After being referred to us by a local pregnancy center, May’s foster mom reached out to see if we could host a registry for her.
May is a single expecting teen mother of a baby boy. Upon finding out she was pregnant, her adoptive family pressured her to abort. When she refused, they unfortunately no longer wanted anything to do with her. She ended up at an emergency shelter and stayed there until her current foster mom stepped up to take her in.
We connected with her and she explained she was pressured to abort but wanted to give her baby life even though “she lost everything.” She also explained the baby’s father was not in the picture and her foster mom was her “only real support.”
May is due January 4, 2020 but the doctors have said she could have him sooner because he’s breach. She’s in desperate need of several big ticket baby items including a nursery center/bassinet, stroller and car seat set, swing, bath tub, and highchair as well as smaller items such as clothes, bottles and other baby care items.
Here at Human Defense Initiative we believe every child, planned or not, is a gift and that women should never feel pressured to abort or that abortion is their only option. We also want to help abortion-vulnerable mothers in need who are in less than ideal situations so they feel that they do have enough love and support to raise their baby.
That is why we are asking you to help us help May! Let’s show May and her son some love and support during this next journey in their lives!
To donate, click the link to the registry below. Make sure to click "gift address" under shipping at the checkout to ensure the gift ships directly to the mom.
