The idea for Prolyfe was born during Mellott’s own pregnancy journey. “As a pregnant and nursing mom, I was shocked to discover how many toxic chemicals are hiding in everyday products—especially skincare,” she said. “I knew I needed to find a safer solution, not just for me but for other moms who care deeply about what they’re putting on their skin.”

The brand’s name captures its purpose. “Pro” stands for being proactive, such as choosing better, safer options, and “Lyfe” symbolizes vitality and beauty in its purest form. Together, the name captures Heather’s mission: to help women make thoughtful, life-affirming choices for themselves and their families.
Giving Back Through Pregnancy Centers
Beyond skincare, Prolyfe incorporates a philanthropic mission. Through its Partnership Program, pregnancy centers and pro-life organizations across the country can partner with Prolyfe and earn 10 percent of every sale made with their unique partner code. Adoption Finder: A Nonprofit With a Broader Mission
Mellott’s commitment to families extends beyond Prolyfe. In 2019, she founded Adoption Finder, a nonprofit that supports adoptive families, foster youth, and women facing unplanned pregnancies.
The inspiration came after Mellott envisioned the struggles of three different groups: couples devastated by infertility, women overwhelmed by unexpected pregnancies, and the tragedy of abortion. Moved to act, she began researching adoption and foster care, uncovering significant gaps and challenges.
Her findings revealed:
- Adoption reform was needed as many for-profit agencies were exploiting families and charging extremely high fees.
- Foster youth lacked support, a need that became even clearer while Heather served as a CASA volunteer during the pandemic.
- Women with unplanned pregnancies often felt abortion was their only option because of a lack of support from partners, families, or communities.
How Adoption Finder is Making a Difference
Today, Adoption Finder is dedicated to removing barriers and building lasting support systems for families and children in need. Through its Adoption Reform & Support initiative, the organization partners with lawyers and agencies to make adoption more affordable, fair, and accessible. Its Pregnancy Care Program empowers expecting mothers in need by providing baby, maternity, and postpartum essentials, as well as job and résumé assistance, and connections to local resources. Additionally, Adoption Finder distributes care packages to children in foster care to bring comfort and stability during uncertain times.
To sustain these efforts, Adoption Finder also operates an online shop and relies on the generosity of donors and grants, ensuring that every program continues to make a meaningful impact. Despite operating on limited donor and grant funding, the nonprofit has already impacted thousands of families nationwide.
