This is unlike most articles we do at HDI. What this post shows is a few hours of research put into looking up the abortion laws in the United States, focusing on the definition of abortion and exceptions to the laws. . These laws were found using the Center for Reproductive Justice’s map and the in-detail document included for each state’s abortion laws, which has citations for laws and court cases. I used the citations to search the current laws and found the sections which talked about exceptions to whatever the gestational limit on abortion was; the links provided are directly to those laws. The next best resource for all the info in one place is perhaps the maps and citations provided by Family Research Council. Many (very good) pro-choice versions of this information exist, but not very many pro-life ones — it costs time and sometimes money to research, track, and update.  This table is not fancy, and there is no map.
